There are several locally owned restaurants on the island, but nothing beats Sullivan’s Restaurant for delicious seafood. Sullivan’s has been family owned and operated for 21 years. Open from 5pm to 9pm daily, the eatery also promises a great brunch on Sunday from 10:30am to 2pm. Lunch is seved only on Friday and Saturday. Although seafood is the main attraction, steak and chicken is available. If your a fan of flounder, the grilled flounder is lightly seasoned and broiled in white wine and butter. A large portion arrives on your plate and melts in your mouth. Two sides accompany the main dish. Locals rave about the homemade key lime pie and tasty bread pudding. The nautical decor adds to the laid back atmosphere of Sullivan’s Restaurant, which is located on Middle Street.
There is also Poe’s Restaurant, dedicated to writer Edgar Allen Poe. The porch at Poe’s is always overflowing with happy patrons having a great time. Seel’s on Sullivan’s is another place on Sullivan’s Island that provides fresh, local seafood at family friendly prices.
