Scouting for Treats

There is no doubt about it, Girl Scout cookies are popular. Maybe people love the annual delectable enough to shell out big bucks on little boxes, but my theory is that it is just too hard to tell a cute little kid no. This year there is even a girl scout cookie app!

There are around 11 cookie types all together. Not every cookie will be available in every area; The decision of what cookies to sale is left up to the local Girl Scout Council. The well-established Thin Mints continue to be the most sold cookie on the block, so you can expect them to be on everyone’s sales list. Included in the list below is a description of each cookie, its shape, and the color of the box-so you can tell before you walk up to the folding table at the supermarket if your choice pick has sold out.

Prices are determined by area. My local cost is $8 a box with the average box holding 15-30 cookies. To place an order, find the Girl Scout Council nearest you. I would hurry, as many Scout Troops must have their orders placed by January 31st.
