The pressure is on, when you’re planning a wedding, to come up with unique decorations, fabulous foods, and much more. No one wants to have the same things that others had at their weddings. Getting married involves everything from planning the wedding itself to having a bachelorette party. If you’re the person giving the bachelorette party you can do something steamy and sensual for the invitations. Just get some old romance novels and you’ll be all set.
Books can be repurposed into many different things, from secret hiding places, to hidden safes. Most book crafts, though, require you to sit and cut, and cut, and cut. You have to remove all the pages, or you have to cut a square into the whole stack of pages, and it ends up taking hours and hours to create something new. When you use romance novels for bachelorette party invitations, though, you won’t have to put out all that effort. It takes just a couple of minutes to make each invitation and you’ll need no special talent whatsoever.
It’s not at all hard to find romance novels at thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets. A romance novel is a paperback and, more often than not, the cover shows a yearning couple, lost in each other’s arms, with desire overwhelmingly evident. The books are a dime a dozen – literally. That makes them a really cheap way of creating unusual and unique bachelorette party invitations.
Cut the front cover off of the romance book and use it as the invitation. Although most romance novels aren’t that large you’ll still need to trim the cover down a bit. Cut it to be about four inches by six inches. That’s the perfect size for postcard-type invitations.
Lay the cover on a table so that the picture on the cover faces downward and the blank side of the cover faces upwards. Position the card so that one of the long sides is horizontal and facing you. Use a ruler to draw a vertical line right down the middle of the card.
On the right side, draw three horizontal lines for the name and address of the recipient. After drawing the four lines you’re ready to send your bachelorette party invitations. Those who receive one will initially be shocked to see a card with a loving, lusting couple on the front. But after turning the card over they’ll see they’ve been invited to an exciting party, coming soon.
