Passion Surprise

A few years ago my wife got an invitation in the mail from a friend. My wife showed it to me and wondered if she should go. English is not her native language. I half read it. What can I say, I’m a guy. The invitation seemed to be to a women’s party on Valentine’s Day. I thought it was a good idea; a bunch of mothers getting together where they no doubt talk about their troubles with the kids and do some husband bashing. So I told her I thought it would be a great idea. During the evening on Valentine’s Day I drove her to her friend’s house. I walked her to the house. I was stopped at the door and told I couldn’t come in. I figured okay they were taking this women’s only thing seriously. So I drove off and killed a couple of hours with my son. With time to kill I took the time to actually read the invitation. It was to one of those Passion Parties ®. I had heard about those parties on talk radio. The invitation said clothing and other items were going to be demonstrated and then the women would go one by one to a separate room where they could buy things and then leave with their “stash”. This party was definitely not for my wife.

When we drove home my wife told me about the events inside. Someone was modeling night clothing. The sales person also talked about some feminine products and other items. An older friend of my wife confessed to her one time her husband brought home a set of handcuffs. Her friend told her she found the handcuffs were a nuisance rather than a turn on. My wife found the experience embarrassing. My wife told me all the time she was wondering if she was committing a sin by being there. For my amusement I chided her for not immediately leaving. What can I say, I’m a guy. When she got into the sales room she felt she had to buy something. She bought a couple of candles. We never lit the candles. I think my wife gave them away as a gift.
