P90X2 Workout Kits – A Quick Guide

Whether you’re pre-ordering P90X2 or are waiting to purchase it during the official release in December 2011, you’ll need to decide which kit you want to invest in. When you purchase your P90X2 workout program directly from Beachbody or an authorized seller, you will need to choose between one of three kits. Some kits contain workout equipment you need to perform all of your exercise routines with good form. If you purchase the P90X2 Base Kit, you will need to purchase your required workout equipment separately.

Here’s a guide to help you decide which P90X2 workout program kit will be the right fit for you:

P90X2 Base Kit – What’s Included

The P90X2 Base Kit includes 12 workouts, a fitness guide that explains what to expect from the workout, a nutrition guide with meal plans that incorporate 27 different diet plans, and a 90-day workout calendar. You’ll need to study these materials to fully understand what P90X2 is about and what type of commitment you’ll need to make in order to get the results you want.

What You Get with the P90X2 Deluxe Kit

Since the P90X2 workout programs requires several pieces of gym equipment, you may consider purchasing the P90X2 Deluxe Kit to offset some of the costs of buying each piece of equipment individually. The deluxe kit comes with two advanced P90X2 workouts, a foam roller, a premium stability ball and two 8-lb medicine balls. This kit does not come with the chin-up bar. This is a valuable piece of equipment to have when doing either P90X or P90X2 because it will help you perform the perfect pull up and strengthen your core.

What You Get with the P90X2 Ultimate Kit

You’ll receive everything in the base kit as well as two advanced P90X2 workouts, a pro-grade foam roller, a stability ball and two 8 lb. medicine balls. If you already own a stability ball and medicine balls, you may be better off purchasing just the P90X2 base kit and a foam roller separately to complete your set. The only real difference between the Ultimate and Deluxe Kit is the type of foam roller you will receive.

Keep in mind that you can always purchase each piece of required equipment separately. It’s still a good idea to invest in a pull-up bar because a lot of the workout routines in P90X2 involve the use of a pull-up bar. You’ll also need a set of dumbbells or other hand weights to perform some of the strengthening exercises in P90X2. If you don’t buy this piece of equipment, you will need to perform modified moves using resistance bands.
