The only word to describe the New York Knicks losing to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night (Jan. 20) is embarrassing. The Bucks had a 4-9 record coming into this game, were without Stephen Jackson, and still found a way to win the game by double-digits (100-86).
Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings scored a game-high 36 points on 15-for-26 shooting, dishing out 5 assists and posting 2 steals in the win. For the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony was the leading scorer with 35 points, but he was just 11-for-26 from the field. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field and 27.3 percent (6-for-22) from three-point range.
There is no reason that the Knicks should have lost this game and maybe the person that gets the blame this time around is coach Mike D’Antoni. The team was not prepared properly for this game and there was simply no flow to the offense. A second half of just 35 points was not good enough to beat most college teams, let alone a professional basketball team.
No time to rest though, as the Knicks have to take on the Denver Nuggets Saturday night (Jan. 21).
