Natalie Holloway’s Parents Disagree Over Legal Matter

Natalie Holloway, was a beautiful, blond 18 year old girl who vanished while vacationing in Aruba back in May of 2005, on a trip to celebrate her graduation. Natalie has never been seen since. No trace of her has ever been found.

According to www.huffingtonpost.com , Dave Holloway, Natalie’s father, has recently had a petition filed in court , to have his daughter declared legally dead. The state of Alabama requires a five year waiting period before a person may be declared legally dead, and this case will also require a second hearing. Legal notices will have to be published in local paper, and then the final decision will be made as to whether or not to have a person declared dead.

Other members of the Holloway family claim that Dave Holloway needs to do this, so that he can finally have some sense of closure. His ex-wife Beth Holloway, does not support this decision, although she has admitted that after the prime suspect in her daughter’s disappearance was arrested for killing another young woman, she is of a mind to believe that her daughter is no longer living. The Holloway’s divorced in 1993.

The prime suspect in the Holloway case is Joran Van der Sloot, who was at one point arrested as a suspect, but never charged in Natalie’s disappearance. Van der Sloot is currently behind bars, serving time for an unrelated charge of murdering a young woman in May of 2010.

My heart goes out to both of Natalie’s parents, for all of the years they have had to live without their daughter, and for them never truly having any real answers about her disappearance. I can see both sides of this, and I only hope that one day, they will both have some sense of peace.
