My First Sleigh Ride

I was married on December 23, 2005. On the week of our third year anniversary, my husband and I went to Door County, Wisconsin for Christmas. It was the most amazing Christmas I have ever had. The country side, rustic setting, and snow, lots of snow, made it the perfect place to spend Christmas.

On our anniversary we decided to go on a sleigh ride. It was amazing. It was cold and it was lightly snowing, but it was beautiful. We were bundled up in our coats and covered with a couple of blankets. The silence was the kind you would experience on Christmas Eve. It was peaceful and exciting all at the same time.

My husband made the comment that the sleigh was kin to the General Lee (the orange Dodge Charger from the Duke’s of Hazzard). The sleigh slipped and slid as it went up hill and down again and around trees and turns. It was quite an experience.

The sleigh itself was beautiful, black exterior and red velvet seats, and pulled by two horses. Afterward my husband and I went back to the room where we were staying and sipped on some sparkling Christmas wine. It was one of the best Christmases that I have ever had.
