If you are trying to find a gift to give to a new momma, why not try a bag of gifts? The gift bag is a bag full of goodies for both momma and baby. In this bag you can put many things the mom and baby will need. How much stuff you put in the gift bag will depend on the amount of money you have to spend. I will simply list things that would be great for the gift bag and you can choose what you would like to put in it.
I will separate the gifts into two categories; one for momma and one for the baby. Instead of buying a dollar gift bag to put all of your goodies in, why not buy a tote that the momma can use as a diaper bag or a bag for herself. That way, none of your present will go to waste and all of it will be useful including the bag itself. You can buy something like a tote, diaper bag or whatever kind of bag you want. You could also buy two bags; one for momma and one for the baby. However you want to do it will be fine. Let’s take a look at some gift ideas, shall we?
For Baby
Baby Bottles – Baby bottles can always be used. You can buy one bottle or multiple bottles, but before you buy bottles, find out what kind of bottle the baby is using. They make so many different kinds that you can’t just run out and pick up any bottle these days.
Baby Bibs – Bibs are also always needed. Especially at this size, the baby will spit-up a lot and the milk will leak from their mouth when drinking their bottle.
Burping Rags – Burping rags is another great thing the momma can use. A baby is supposed to be burped after half of the bottle and after the full bottle. So, the momma could use a few of these. That way she can wash them every few days and have plenty of them to use.
Outfits – You could also buy the baby a cute little outfit. Most babies have plenty of outfits when they are born, so check with the momma before buying a lot of clothes if that is your plan.
Lotion, Shampoo & Baby Powder – These products are always needed and won’t go bad. So, the more the momma has, the less she has to buy. So throw some these in the bag as well.
Hair Brush – The momma may need a hair brush for the baby as well, if the baby has hair. If the baby doesn’t have any hair, you might not want to buy a hair brush.
Fingernail & Toenail Clippers – Clippers is another cheap gift that you can purchase and put in the gift bag. You can never have too many sets of clippers because it is so easy to lose them.
For Momma
Lotion – If momma has a favorite lotion maybe from Bath & Body Works or Victoria Secret, you might want to consider picking up her a bottle of her favorite.
Hand Sanitizer or Hand Soap – After the momma changes the baby’s diaper, she will probably wash her hands or at least use sanitizer. So, buying her one of these will be a wonderful gift. You can buy her a liquid hand soap that has a nice scent.
Perfume -You can also buy her a bottle of her favorite perfume.
Scented Candles – If she has favorite candles, you may want to pick up some of those for her. She could use them while getting a nice, relaxing bath.
Bubble Bath – After a long hard day, momma might want to relax in the tub and bubble bath will help with that relaxation.
Makeup – If the momma wears makeup, you can buy her some lipstick, eye shadow, lip gloss or other makeup.
These are just some of the things you can purchase for momma and baby to put in their gift bag. You might also want to visit the Dollar Tree and find things for both momma and baby that don’t cost that much.
