Summer lingers yellow.
Unlike any other season,
Summer’s loved by everyone
It needn’t give a reason.
Each has his own:
extended days,
fiery rays.
Golden tans and baseball games.
Summer’s loved for the longest time,
Then weary worshippers join the chime,
Of clock-ticked time and passing seasons,
All love fall, for myriad reasons.
And summer dog-days
Kissed goodbye,
Recalled with burns and late-light sky.
Gray-brown takes over and roughs the trees,
Cooler air, a leafy breeze.
Autumn sneaks in and steals the show,
Scarcely lasts before first snow.
Each season loved for a passing time,
Charted by moon and sun-clock’s chime.
Then summer rounds the bend again,
Warm, golden, yellow,
Welcomed friend.
