Lazy Alice rounds the corner of unrequited dreams. She walked up to the hollowed face of an engineering degree. Alice was too sleepy to submit her college application that summer day four years ago. She is still feeling a bit sleepy.
Alice brushed shoulders with the marred and sullen form of a love never met. She was always a little too impatient for dating. The figure reaches for her and just misses the unraveled cuff of her sweater.
Alice finally walks past a mirror that calls out to her and she answers. It whispers to her of the life she would have had if she had more drive and more desire for the breath in her body. Lazy Alice doesn’t feel quite so indifferent anymore.
Alice rounds the corner and leaves her unrequited dreams behind. She walks with a new purpose and determination but time is no longer on her side. Alice has spent to long remembering the past and not long enough living in the present. Alice the old woman sits on the curb and sobs realizing her end is near.
The lesson is still wasted on Alice for even in her old age and last days she can still live her dreams, find her purpose and teach others of determination.
