Kristen Stewart: What’s Next for the ‘Twilight’ Star?

Move over Angelina Jolie. The beautiful Kristen Stewart, 21, is well on her way to becoming one of the most successful actresses of the 21st century, and now that she has the “Twilight” saga behind her, she has hit the ground running with no signs of slowing down. Who would have thought she would end up being one of the hottest and most sought after actresses to hit Hollywood?

Just six years after appearing in “Panic Room” with Jodie Foster in 2002, Stewart was burning up the big screen as Bella Swan in the “Twilight” saga and heating up the rumor mill when tabloids began speculating about an off-screen romance with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen).

Now that the last “Twilight” movie has been filmed and fans wait for “Breaking Dawn: Part 1″ to hit theaters November 18 followed by “Breaking Dawn: Part 2″ in November 2012, we have to ask: what’s next for this young actress?

Filming for Stewart’s next movie project has already wrapped up and “On the Road,” a movie based on the 1951 novel by Jack Kerouac, is due to be released in theaters in 2012. However, it’s another movie project that is perhaps the most anticipated post-“Twilight.”

Kristen Stewart as Snow White:

Stewart is currently filming “Snow White and the Huntsman” in which she portrays none other than Snow White. This is a far cry from her “Twilight” character, which is a good thing! Future projects will be a true test of Stewart’s acting ability – she’s grown by leaps and bounds since the first “Twilight” movie was released in 2008 – and will keep her from being typecast as a vampire-loving innocent.

Don’t expect this to be your grandma’s Snow White, though. This movie is far darker and sinister than its 1937 animated sister or the 1997 movie “Snow White: A Tale of Terror” that starred Sigourney Weaver; and don’t expect Stewart’s Snow White to wear any frilly dresses. Publicity photos available at the movie’s official website have the actress decked out in body-hugging armor and wielding an awesome shield.

Stewart’s co-stars include “Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the evil queen. In keeping with the original story about the princess, sort of, the Huntsman is supposed to lure the innocent Snow White into the woods where he’s to kill her. Of course, things don’t go as the evil Ravenna plans and instead of killing Snow White, the Huntsman teaches her how to fight back.

Grab your popcorn and candy because “Snow White and the Huntsman” is scheduled to hit theaters June 1, 2012!
