Kate Plus 8 Cancellation: A Viewer’s Point of View

I feel it is no secret that viewers either love to love Kate or hate Kate. I did neither; however, I did feel that Kate used her children to punish Jon during the long divorce battle. I believe both parents capitalized off their eight beautiful children. All these precious little kids desire is love from both parents. Yet, what they all received was publicity due to their parents’ greed. Money is evil and in this case that statement holds strong. Both parents had none when they decided to grow their family out of love for one another with eight beautiful babies.

Once the babies were born and the media attention began, so did the trouble and greed. It may have been fun to watch this couple in the beginning because the nation was memorized by a family of this nature. However, as the years went by, so did the curiosity. People began to grow weary of the arguments on the reality television show. They become sickened by the way these parents felt the need to use their innocent children to gain their wants and desires. Jon and Kate’s need for public attention began to seem like a competition of which one was loved more.

The fact that both parents were missing was the nation wasn’t watching for Jon and Kate. They loved the children. The cuteness of how the kids interact with one another and the tenderness each child shares with another is what the public enjoyed seeing take place. The focus was never on the parents. Of course, the parents forced the attention of the public to be directed onto them by showing their back sides to one another. They demonstrated poor judgment, bad choices, and unexplained actions. Neither parent acted like mature, responsible adults. Rather, each parent acted as if they were better than everyone around them. To be honest, they flaunted their new found fame and smeared it into the faces of every fan that watched.

Should we be surprised that Kate’s show was cancelled? Kate should have never continued on with the show once Jon was removed. The show should have been cancelled and the children should have been allowed to live their lives normally outside of camera crews and public exposure. Each child is different and they should be given the opportunity to live as normal children. They should be able to cope with their parents’ divorce in private and be allowed to grow up without being on display. I believe with the show cancellation, the children will finally be able to learn a new sense of normal. Of course, normal acts for this family are already different from a family like most. God bless these children and may they find love, peace, and happiness in their lives.
