How to Set Up an Xbox 360

Setting up Gaming Consoles can be very confusing if you don’t know a lot about technology. Luckily I have a step by step guide that will take you from opening the box to playing it with your family.

Step 1: To start off you need to find a place to put the system. The Xbox needs air getting to it’s vents so it’s best to put it somewhere in the open. Stuffing it in a cabinet can be bad for the system and it can easily get over heated.

Step 2: Remove the two piece power cord from the box. Plug the two parts together to form one cord. Take the wall jack and plug it in. Take the opposite end of the cord and plug it into the corresponding jack on the back of the Xbox.

Step 3: This next step depends on what kind of TV you are using. The Xbox comes with a standard composite cable for Standard Definition TV’s. If you are using an HDTV then you will need to purchase a HDMI cable or a component cable. These can be found at your nearest electronics dealer. Once you have the correct cable, Plug the corresponding jack into the back of the Xbox and the colored cables into the proper slots in the back of your TV.

Step 4: You should be all set up. Next thing is to turn it on. To do this simply push in on the power button on the front of the Xbox or by pressing the middle X button to your controller. Just make sure you tune your TV to the correct channel.

Step 5: Finally, insert a game by pressing the arrow next to the disk drive and enjoy your new Xbox 360.
