How to Organize Your Office in Just Minutes Everyday

An office is where all your work gets done and where you come up with all your brilliant ideas and plans. But if your workplace isn’t organized than how efficient can you really be? Many people don’t want to take the time to organize their office because they think it will take too long and if you are one of those people, you are in luck. There are many things you can do to organize your office in very little time.

Getting rid of things you don’t need.
Don’t tear apart your office trying to find things that you don’t need, you’ll just make a big mess that will take hours to clean up. It’s important that you don’t try to get EVERYTHING in your office done in one day. Start with the small stuff. On your desk, find a few things you don’t need or want and throw them away. Then move to your desk drawers. You should only throw away a few things at a time, or else you could throw away things that you actually do need. You will then get to your filing cabinets, but you should save those for when you really have time because there may be years and years of paperwork in them that you don’t need but you still need to carefully go through. Tip: Take one filing drawer at a time.

Desk drawers.
You need to purchase organizational tools that will help keep your desk drawers in order such as paper clips, post-it notes, pen & pencil holder, etc. There are trays you can put in your desk drawer that has little compartments to hold different items.

There are probably notes, messages and reminders on your bulletin that have been up there for months that you surely don’t need anymore. Remove them and make room for new reminders and messages. You should clear this board once a week.

Set goals.
It’s very important to set goals for your office such as you’ll complete one filing cabinet within the next two weeks or you’ll keep the top of your desk clear for a week. Setting goals is important, it helps you make sure you’ll get done what you need to get done.
