Hooking Up Your First Computer System!

Computers are becoming more and more popular as the years go on. Technology is ever changing and new electronics are always being introduced to the economy. Every year, a new operating system is introduced such as Windows 7. Windows 7 was the latest operating system to be released with each and every new computer system in 2011.

The question that most new computer owners have is how to hook it up? Should they hire someone? The answer to that question is no, it is very simple. The cords that are to be hooked up to the back of your tower are mostly color coated so that there is no confusion. The basic parts of a computer that should be hooked up to the tower are the speakers, the power cord, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet cable, and the monitor.

To hook up the computer system, you will not need any tools except for what came with your new system. The first thing to do would be to plug up the peripheral cords to the back of the tower. Peripheral cords meaning the USB cords which include the keyboard, the mouse, and the printer, if applicable. Each cable can be found in the box with the new computer system that you just purchased.

The next thing to do would be to hook up your monitor. There are two different cords that must be plugged up in order to do this. The power cord must be plugged into a wall outlet and the DVI cable must be plugged into the back of the CPU/Tower in the correct port. There are many different types of speaker systems that come with various brands of computers. The speakers normally have one end that plugs into the back of your computer in the green port. Once this cord is plugged in, they should be ready to use unless there is a subwoofer that goes with your speakers which then requires you to plug that up into a power outlet as well. If you already have a modem for your internet service, or if you don’t, the Ethernet cable plugs into the back of your computer tower and the other end goes into the back of your modem on the WAN port. Once you contact your Internet Service Provider and the internet has been connected, then you will be able to surf the internet with ease! The last thing to do would be to plug in the power cable into the back of the power supply on your tower, and the other end into a power outlet that is available in your home. Each computer system varies in installation procedures, but there are many more similarities than differences.

This article is meant to help newcomers to the technology field learn the basics of owning a new computer system. It is very simple to learn and very hard to forget. It is self explanatory and it is a great field of work to get into. Being able to hook up computers with ease can benefit anyone because they won’t have to pay for someone else to come into their home and perform this procedure for them! Isn’t that great? Computers are not hard to master once the basics are learned. The hardest part about learning how to use the computer is typing. There are so many computer owners who have to peck at the keyboards whenever they are trying to surf the internet. Once this concept is mastered as well, it is very hard to forget it. The best way to learn how to type with speed is to memorize where each key is on the keyboard so that you can know which finger should go to each key. Children have keyboarding class in elementary and middle school to help teach them this task so if you have children in your home, let them teach you how to type the same way that they are learning! It would be great for both parties if the children can practice by teaching their parents. It is a win/win situation for both people involved!
