The Indianapolis area has quite a few pick your apple orchards all within a close one hour radius. These pick your own farms are a great way to spend the day with family and friends that will create fun memories. Here is a guide to some of the more popular pick your own apple orchards in the greater Indianapolis area.

One of the closest orchards to Indianapolis is Tuttle Orchards located at 5717 North 300 West, Greenfield, Indiana. This pick your own farm is about a half hour east of the city. Aside from plenty of apple trees, Tuttle’s offerings include fresh made cider, pumpkin patches, gift shop, and a large children’s play area that includes play tractors, sand box, bales of straw for climbing, and plenty more. Another popular orchard located east of Indy is Jacob’s Family Orchard. This family owned u-pick orchard located at 4676 N. Co. Road 75 West in New Castle includes over forty five acres of orchards with many different varieties of apples. The farm’s additional attractions include hayrides, inflatable amusements for children, corn maze, and straw bales for climbing. Jacob’s Family Orchard is about an hour drive east on interstate 70. One of the larger farms also about an hour east of Indianapolis is Dougherty Orchard at 243 N. Dougherty Road in Cambridge City, Indiana. The family owned farm dates back to 1883 with 400 acres of apples and other select fruits and vegetables available as u-pick. About a half hour southwest of Indianapolis is Anderson Orchard at 369 East Greencastle Road in Mooresville, Indiana. The 150 acre apple orchard also has u-pick berries and pumpkins. In addition to store on premises, Anderson’s also has on site concessions that sell caramel apples, apple slushies and fried apple pies.
