There are a lot of things that you can do to enhance your computing experience. However, most things require extensive coding knowledge and experience, or expensive and bulky software. So what can you do to make your computer even better without spending a lot of time or money? Try freeware!
Freeware is computer software that anyone can download for no cost. Most freeware is lightweight, meaning it does not take up a lot of your computer’s resources. This is contrary to commercial software, which often takes up large amounts of your computers resources, slowing it down even when you’re not using it. Lets be honest; do you really care if your music software doubles up as a browser, or if your calculator can also edit text files? Of course you don’t! You see, unlike commercial software developers, freeware developers are not trying to sell you anything. This means they don’t go out of their way to put in all those extras that just slow the software down, resulting in programs that do what you want, without getting in your way. This also results in most freeware taking up remarkably less space than commercial software, while still doing what it is designed to do.
There are many popular free programs out there that practically everyone knows about. However, at the same time there are even more helpful free programs that don’t receive proper recognition.
