Flush With the Toilet Seat Down!

Do you know of someone who refuses to put that toilet seat down? Obviously, if they’re leaving it up after flushing, they’re probably leaving up while they flush too. This can cause some nasty health issues.

Science has proven that when a toilet is flushed with the seat up, it sends out a spray, similar to an aerosol mist effect, that floats all over your bathroom. In 1975, Charles A. Gerba published a scientific article in which he explained how bacteria and viral aerosols get shot through the air with each flush of contaminated water. This aerosol mist of contaminated water then floats all around your bathroom area and can potentially land on anything and everything in your bathroom.

Microbes can continue to float in the air around the bathroom for up to two hours after each flush with the seat up! Just think of how many disgusting germs are landing on your toothbrush, your vanity and every surface your family touches! Disgusting stuff!

The good news is that, to avoid this contamination, flush with the seat down. Pretty simple concept, yet so many refuse to comply. Share this information with anyone you know who leaves that lid up, and it just might change their mind about it. If this information won’t change their ways, nothing will.
