Five Reasons I Love Dallas, Texas

I moved to the Dallas area almost six years ago from California. I love Dallas, Texas and I want to share with you five reasons you’ll love it as well!

The Arts

Dallas has the beautiful AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Winspear Opera House, the Dallas Museum of Art and a multitude of wonderful museums and galleries. Every year there are events held to highlight artists, and musicians. In my opinion, it is the best unknown aspect of Dallas.

The Shopping

The number of great shops, boutiques and restaurants in Dallas are astronomical. You will find some of the best shopping in the country at The Galleria Mall, the NorthPark Center and in districts such as Uptown, and Downtown Dallas where a number of unique boutiques can be found.

Pro Sports Teams

Dallas has four pro sports teams; The NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Stars of the NHL, the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and FC Dallas of the MLS. Watching the pros play is a treat that most people don’t get to enjoy. Though the Texas Rangers play in Arlington, it is less than a 30 minute drive from Dallas. If you live in the Dallas area or come to visit, you can find a pro team playing any time of the year.

The Skyline

The skyline in Dallas is one of the few in the country that almost everyone recognizes when they see it on TV, or in the movies. I fell in love with the Dallas skyline as a kid and I still smile every time I see it live. Driving past the skyline at night is a must do if you come to Dallas.

The People

The main reason I moved from California to the Dallas area is because every time I visited Dallas, the people here were open and friendly. I felt at home in Dallas and I appreciated the kindness of strangers here. I may not like how people drive in Dallas, but I can say that some of the nicest folks I’ve ever met, I met here in Dallas, Texas.

If you have the chance to visit, or you are thinking about moving to the Dallas area, I’d definitely recommend it. For more information on visiting Dallas, click here.
