Fall 2011 Holidays to Remember

The fall season has lots of important holidays in it. So many that is sometimes quite difficult to keep up with all of them. Have no fear. I have made a list and created an article just for fall 2011 holidays. Here they are. Happy fall!

I will start with a good one. When is Columbus day? Columbus day falls on October 10 in 2011. That day is on a Monday. Yay! That means a long weekend for many of us working folks. The banks will be closed, so keep that fact in mind. I love holidays and this is an important one. God bless the USA and the day we were discovered. Now, here we are. A great day to celebrate.

When is Halloween in 2011? Good question. October 31, 2011 is Halloween. Yes, we all know this fun date and holiday, but did you know that this Halloween falls on a Monday? Yep. It does. Take note and plan accordingly. Many kids may be trick or treating on the weekend nights instead of on Monday. After all, Tuesday is a school day. That is fine, as long as trick or treat happens, it really does not matter on what night. Costumes, parties and candy abound. Most likely during the weekend before Halloween Monday. You have been notified. Happy Halloween!

When does daylight saving time end in 2011? It ends on November 6, 2011. That is on a Sunday, which means that Saturday night, you will want to set your clocks back one hour. Fabulous. One extra hour of sleep. I love that! So, on Sunday, you will be one hour back. I love gaining back the hour of sleep I lost in spring.

Here comes election day! When is election day in 2011? It falls on November 8, 2011. That is on a Tuesday. A very important date to remember. Don’t forget to vote. Your vote counts. You have no right to complain about elected politicians unless you vote. So says I.

When is Veteran’s day in 2011? That is an important question. Veteran’s day is on November 11, 2011. That day is a Friday. Spectacular. Weekend long celebrations can be enjoyed. Support your Veterans by visiting the hungersite.com website. This website gives a meal to a hungry and homeless veteran with every click. It is free. Just look for the veteran space at the top of the page, click on it and make one more click to feed a veteran. Takes very little time, but it shows your love on Veteran’s day in a special and needed way.

A favorite holiday in fall is Thanksgiving. When is Thanksgiving in 2011? It is on November 24, 2011. On a Thursday. This day is so fun and food lovers are in heaven. Lots of turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. We all give thanks on this special holiday for family, friends, food and our many blessings. I love this holiday.

Don’t forget Pearl Harbor day. It is on a Wednesday, December 7, 2011. We remember this bombing and will never forget what it meant and how so many were affected. A nice day to reflect on how far the USA has come and what can always happen if you are not prepared. Many died and we remember their honorable sacrifice on this day.

This concludes my list of fall 2011 holidays to remember. All are important and worthy. Thanks for reading and have a fabulous fall season and a very happy Thanksgiving.
