Wandering astray amidst the wicked.
I will not sleep until I’m found.
Seeking wisdom, a guiding light.
My restless wonder, so profound.
Crushing angst, so hard to breathe.
I feel as if I’m drowning.
With all the sadness consuming me,
I’m sure that God is frowning.
Have I lost my way, evaded hope?
Or will my soul be freed?
Will salvation lend a gentle hand?
To save my life, indeed.
A desperate cry, I’m reaching out.
A sobbing prayer each day.
Will He heal my wounded heart?
And help me find my way?
It comes to me, with certainty.
An instantaneous relief.
Like a whisper, a warm feeling,
“You are guided by your belief.”
I sigh as if the weight has gone.
Another day I can bravely face.
I know now that I’m not alone.
I can find shelter in His embrace.
