Ebay Selling Tips: What is Selling Now!

Want to sell on Ebay for profit? Then look no further! I have some great tips and resources to get you started and on your way. While I do this as a hobby, I know many people who do this for a living. It all depends on how much you want to put into it. Your earning potential is up to you!

What do you sell on Ebay? I get this question a lot. My answer is ANYTHING you can get your hands on! Now the question should be: What sells best on Ebay?? Let me just say first what does NOT sell well on Ebay. Items that you can buy in bulk from “wholesales” usually do not do very well or the profit margin is small compared to the amount of work that you put into it. And quite frankly it’s not very FUN either. Also with this types of products (such as electronics bought in bulk from a wholesaler) there are MILLIONS of others out there selling the exact same thing! This means competition is high and profits are low as you compete for people’s bids. People turn to Ebay for great deals and bargains, to pay rock bottom prices and that can create a problem for those trying to sell in a category with high competition.

So what are the best things to sell on Ebay? Well it’s easier than you think! Vintage items! The likely hood of you selling the exact same piece as someone else is very unlikely. The competition is low to none. Look in your attic and see what you have laying around. This is a good place to start out. Where else to find these types of items? Thrift stores, estate sales, yard sales, and from your own family. I have found this book: Thrift Store Goldmines to be very informative on telling you exactly what to look for and how to list your items. In goes into great detail on what to look for when going treasure hunting. I would also like to point out that selling in this category is FUN!! Not only do you meet a lot of new people at sales and thrift stores, but it truly is a treasure hunt!

My last and final tip for selling on Ebay is to make sure your listings are as accurate as possible. Be honest in your listing and describe any faults in the item that your selling. Your integrity is most important on Ebay. Make sure all your spelling is correct and that all photo’s are crisp and clear for the buyer to see. Also consider using Auctiva to enhance your listings. There are now some fees associated with Auctiva, but there is still the option for a free account as well.

So selling on Ebay can be FUN! You can make extra money or a full time income, it’s up to you! Good luck!
