Is the topic you are planning to start blogging about focus on a niche category such as parenting, beauty, or health? You may not know it but these are some of the most popular categories, thus putting you in a sea of endless competition. If you still want to stick with one of these niche categories that you are good at writing about then you must expand your topic just a bit as to not make it like the one Jane next door is doing. Instead of talking about health in general try talking about the different ways to stay in good health. A blog that is out there, is interesting, and hasn’t been done time and time again is a better blog .
Be Careful With Advertising
Even though you do make money from advertisements, a good blogger knows where and how many to use. If you have put ads in post after post and on your sidebar you have already overdid it. It is okay to have a few links in articles and even have a Google Ad going on the side, but no matter how attractive the content is having a site filled with ads is not a pleasant experience.
Keep Your Followers Coming Back
A smart blogger knows that blogging once a month is not going to keep their followers interested and coming back, so a good idea is to blog at least once a week to keep the content good and fresh. Just so you know Google picks up on new content not stuff that has been around for years.
Keep It Entertaining
Some of the best blogs out there are not only informative, but are also captivating. The average reader gets bored after the first 400 words, so keep them entertained by making those 400 words fun and informative. So unless you are doing a comic blog don’t fill the entire thing with jokes.

You may have a captivating and well-designed blog, but Google Rankings won’t be in your favor if the blog doesn’t get visitors and you won’t make money off the ads either. So to solve that problem start writing articles on other sites to link back to your site, doing that means more links pointing people back to your site gaining you more visitors and of course more money.
