Barney Birthday Party Supplies

Barney is everyone’s favorite dinosaur!

Does your child love Barney? If they like to watch this popular kids tv show, then they will probably want a Barney birthday theme with all Barney party supplies and party decorations. Barney provides a lot of creative tie-ins with his brawnier extinct ancestor, the “dinosaur”, so you can also plan on craft and fun activities that are “dinosaur related” that the guest will love. After all, when a child finds an interest in something, they tend to want to spend their time doing anything related to it. When it comes to Barney, there are a lot of things that you and your child can do that will let them have fun while also being creative.

For instance, did you know dinosaurs can be dug up in your own house — with a spoon, that is — in purple Jello. Just place one well-washed plastic dinosaur (that’s small enough to fit into a dessert bowl, but large enough not to be a choking hazard) into gelatin mix before letting it set. Peanut M&M candies can be presented in bowls as dinosaur eggs. Dinosaur-shaped cookies are fun, as are dinosaur gummy candies. Get the idea? Be creative with ideas and activities that relate to the theme. You can also talk to your child before hand and see what they think would be fun.

You can make the idea session a game. Ready, here we go! There are two things that make Barney special, right? What are they? Firstly, he is a dinosaur, which always sparks kids’ interests. Secondly, he is purple. Most of the themed projects you’ll do will have a fair amount of purple in them. This is par for the course when it comes to fun projects that are related to Barney. Decorate the entire room with all Barney party decoration for example wall banners, streamers and blowouts. KidsPartyWorld.com has a great selection of Barney party supplies to choose from. Remember purple balloons and streamers, and while your at it, some lime green for “Baby Bop”.

Okay, so what do we need to eat? All kids need to eat. It can be really fun for them if they get to help make the food. It can be even more fun if that food is creative and represents something that they enjoy. Since Barney is purple, you could use grape jam to make a Barney themed open-faced peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Let your child use the jam to draw Barney on the sandwich. You will be using this icon to let your children have fun while eating.

Another thing that children love to do is color and draw. You can print off coloring pages for them that have a Barney theme. If you are fairly good at drawing, you can draw Barney for them as well. Then, have your kids color them in any way that they please.

What would a Barney birthday party be without his famed “I love you” song? Adults that are attending the birthday party may be annoyed, but young children can’t seem to get enough of the love-inspired song. At some point during the party, have the children should sing the song. An adult dressed in the costume could lead the children through the song. The parent dressed up in the Barney suit could surprise the children with candy and/or gifts. The cost will vary, but on average an adult Barney costume rents for about $100. An alternative is to have the children wear costumes of characters on the Barney and Friends show.

To top things off, use a Barney piñata to give the kids a fun activity to round up the party. Choose between a pull-string Barney piñata, where guest pull individual strings until the piñata burst open with candy and favors. Or select a classic 3-D Barney piñata, which is beaten with a stick, until it’s breached and all the delicious treats fall out. If you opt with this style, make sure the big kids go last! To make it more challenging, make all the party guest where blindfolds. This should result in a few laughs for everyone, including parents…and why should they have a good chuckle, darn-it! Enjoy a Barney theme, it’s a great way to theme your child’s birthday party.
