Barnes and Noble Are Now Featuring the Nook Tablet

Barnes & Noble took off with the latest eReader, the new Nook came out just last month. The Nook is still running off of the Android; it still looks and feels much more like a normal eReader. The new Nook has the brand new E Ink Pearl display that doesn’t just works as a touchscreen, but refreshes the less than often other eReaders and is quite faster. The price of the Nook makes it quite competitive with the Wi – Fi Kindle, but is the Nook good enough to be the next eReader for buyers.

The Nook Simple Touch eReader is about 6% thinner than the original and close to 35% lighter. Many people love the fact that the new eReader is so much thinner and lighter. The best part of the Nook is that it can hold up to 1,000 books and magazines and there is also a microSD card slot adding even more storage to the Nook. The Nook weighs around 7.48 ounces which makes it almost unnoticeable inside of a bag. The display screen of the Nook is 6 inches which is 50 percent greater contrast than the original Nook. The Nook also feels very sturdy and you shouldn’t have to worry about cracking it if it fell.

The four physical buttons that surround the display can be used for quick navigation forwards or backwards through the book. The Nook also allows you to customize this buttons as well. The brand new Nook’s user interface is what many people want out of an eReader. The main home screen shows you thumbnails of your latest book, magazine, or newspaper and even how far you read into it. This allows you to quickly pick up from where you had left off. There are also lists of new available reads to the right of that icon and below both of them is a large area with suggestions on what to read next. You can also link your Fackbook, Twitter or Google friends to share the titles you have already read.

The new Nook is also equipped with the support of Wi – Fi networks, which mean you could only download book that are available on the Wi – Fi connection. Now the 3G Kindle will allow you to download books very anywhere.

There is only one issue with the refreshing technology of the Nook and it is that sometimes a page will not fully refresh putting a ghosting from the previous screen on the new one. The only time this occurred when navigating around the menus and the main home screen. This problem shouldn’t bother the only reading experience though.

The Nook is a great eReader and with the price being lower than the Wi-Fi Kindle this product will be a hit for people looking to buy an eReader.
