Author Interview: Natasha R Stultz Author of Fragments of a Social Conscience

About your book: Fragments of a Social Conscience

When a former CA governor’s body is found outside of a sleepy little mountain town no one can believe that his body was fed through a log splitter. Beyond shocking is the revelation that this is only the first in a series of unnervingly sadistic murders to come unless Dr. Strickland Dunbar and his team can identify and apprehend the sociopathic serial killer who calls herself “Angel.” Fragments of a Social Conscience is a cerebral thriller that defies the limits of human debauchery as it plunges you into a world of corruption, human experimentation and slavery; that forces one to confront the evil lurking beneath the surface. As the bodies begin to pile up, it begs the question; is Angel right? Is this the only fitting punishment for their crimes? A chilling blend of retribution and torture that addresses the dangers of an over medicated, under informed nation being led to slaughter by an elite circle of soulless power brokers. This suspense filled ride careens through the twisted terrain of a young woman’s psychosis as she challenges society’s definition of justice.

Have you acquired any good anecdotes surrounding this book? If so, could you share one?

Natasha R Stultz
Well, the most recent one would have to be the jokes surrounding “Beef Wellington.” My father is a chef & I called him for the recipe while I was writing about the second murder. Naturally he had no idea that it was the final bit of cattle baron, Joss Wellington’s retribution; as Joss was served up to his industry cronies as Beef Wellington. Beyond that a friend called to tell me that Beef Wellington was a featured entree on Hell’s Kitchen. My future son-in-law through a dinner party themed to celebrate the book’s release & that was the dish he chose. My fans in Idaho thought it was a riot.

Did researching and writing this book teach you anything or influence your thinking in any way?

Natasha R Stultz
Most definitely. Learning about the true horrors of human/animal experimentation, sexual slavery, blood diamonds, arms trafficking, and many other deplorable criminal endeavors; was extremely unsettling. Additionally, I was intrigued by the actual procedures of various law enforcement agencies. I was also reminded of the sacrifices that my partner, Dan patiently made while I was immersed in the entire process.

Why do you write?

Natasha R Stultz
“Writing is my life blood; a catharsis. I can channel passion, intensity, darkness, spirals of light….. the entire realm of emotion. No matter where I am I have a pen handy. In the middle of the night I have been known to jot things down on my note pad in the dark. When we’re on the bike sometimes I scrawl out ink on my Levi’s so I don’t lose the flavor of the moment. We laughingly call it my 100 mph short hand. Favorite authors include Dante’, Jung, Tolkien, Clive Barker,Abbie Hoffman, James Patterson, Einstein,Thich Nhat Hahn,Stephen King,James Redfield,Dan Brown,Dean Koontz,Carlos Castaneda,Thoreau,Shakespeare,Carl Sandburg, Dr. Seuss,Eleanor Farjeon, and countless others. I am fascinated by the constant magic of the universe and the poignancy of love that vibrates in swirling chaotic abundance. Happiness is only elusive when we chase it instead of accept that we deserve it! Follow your fire. May all beings… (or as my daughter used to say when she was 4 ‘all beans,’)be free from suffering.”
