Are We DONE Waiting for Superman?

No more waiting for Superman. Charter versus public schooling is now the difference in the future of a child’s education. Education seems to be effortless now more than ever. Government within a school shouldn’t exist in charter schools. In public school it seems as if there is more freedom to learn what’s needed everywhere for everyday life but charter schools are controlled by the government and what they want a child to learn. A child mind shouldn’t have boundaries to grown and learn! Some people don’t believe in waiting for the Government to supply food, electronics and good education to kids in school but since they have to, they can only do so much when depending on the government.

This article is about my opinion on the government taking over and reinforcing new laws into schools. People have fought for the change to having public schools self-governed instead of being ran by the government. It’s thought that the government can possibly mess up what learning is all about in charter schools. Basically, parents and plenty other Americans should given up hope with thinking that education supplied by the Government will change because it seems impossible now.

Every child deserves public education because it is given more freedom than charter, or private schools. Even though public schools seem to be rated as poor in education, it’s gathered that 31% of parents believe that we, as Americans, should support the public schooling and stop waiting for changes to magically happen. They are waiting for Superman no more.

Public schooling is the core of our equality now. There are a majority of kids attend public schools, made up of various ethnicity and backgrounds and these are the kids that give everyone a common ground. When I first read the article to Waiting for Superman, written by Neal McCluskey I realized hat he proposed that the educational system would change and parents would regain control of how their kids’ education is managed. Parents want the opportunity to have a say in what happens with their child’s education but if the government is funding everything, this may not happen, all they can do is send their child to another school or hope that their education won’t fail.

There isn’t a true accusation saying that the government is hurting the school system and children’s education but some parents believe that the government doesn’t understand what is really needed when supplying kids with the right education. The government bases education off what they want and what they think is needed for be learned or handed out. While parents on the other hand believe that education should be based off learning everything and receiving the best possible education that a child can get. There’s no more superman to save the day for kids anymore.

Basically, school systems are now in ruin. The only hope now is with education and how well the teachers can teach. What the government thinks is best and what parents feel is best should both be taken into consideration. The only thing that truly matters is providing what’s best for the kids. Taking initiative by trying to make things better seems impossible with the government now. No one can do anything if it’s not approved by the government.

The educational system is becoming too simple. In this article it is said why education is going downhill. Writer Davis Guggenheim says “Of developed nations, American students rank last in math skills. When the students are asked to guess their standing, Americans put themselves first.” It’s great that Americans believe that they are the best and it is said that when you believe you can also achieve but trying to steal the title of something we are not yet capable of is not achieving isn’t helpful. We only know what we are taught or what we learn and since there isn’t enough learning in America now to link us to be as superior as other countries that are for example, good in math, than we need to do better or stop claiming to be the best.

I believe that public school systems aren’t terrible; I’ve grown up with the government taking control of the schooling rather than parents. I’ve learned that it’ not necessarily the governments fault for the way the children are being taught but it is their fault for the production and poor environment and appliances. Learning is up to the children and the teachers. It seems that parents just want more say on what’s happening with their children during school and they just want to make sure their child is receiving the best education that they can get. Placing your children in a better developed public school rather than a convenient school is the parents chance to have a choice in their child’s education. I can’t say that public school is the best form of education but it’s better than nothing at all. It seems like this argument around bad education just doubts a child’s success and intellectual behavior by judging them. Even though there isn’t direct judging, its indirect because parents and other people involved with the school systems are saying that education is not up to par which means children only know as much as the little education they receive gives them.

With all that’s been said conflicting about public and charter schooling, the opinions will be endless but facts show that education has decreased due to change. It’s been discussed that the outcome of such poor education in America has led to people from other counties coming to America and becoming successful doctors and lawyers rather than the natives. Americans aren’t generating enough ‘intelligent’ careers and it’s believed that the reason is because Superman has never come. We are economically deprived from success. Waiting for Superman is like waiting for the sky to fall to the ground.
