Sergeant Samuel, a policeman who lives in Suame, a suburb of Kumasi, Ghana was assigned to be at Kwadaso Estate, one of the estates in Kumasi, Ghana to some cars. He reported for work at exactly six pm in the evening and was greeted by his subordinates at post. Two hours after checking incoming and outgoing cars, an old woman with a foreign numbered car drove towards the checking point. She was stopped by the other police officers and they explained to the woman that it was not allowed to drive around the town after six pm with a foreign numbered car. It became a heated argument and Sergeant Samuel had to come out and find out what was going on. The woman explained to the sergeant she was not going far and she will soon be back but the officers did not buy her excuse.
After a long and heated exchange of words, Sergeant Samuel requested for the woman’s driving license and the woman brought it out of her car boot to give it to Sergeant Samuel. After taking the envelop from the old woman, Sergeant Samuel opened the envelope and brought out the license.
Some few seconds’ later after taking the license from the woman blood started coming out from his nostrils which he was not aware of it. One of his officers (Michael) who was closer by told him blood was coming out of his nose. He bends his head to reach for a handkerchief from his pocket, but the bending worsened the situation-the blood started oozing more and he passed out.
He woke up on a hospital bed and immediately he opened his eyes the old woman was the first he saw and she handed him a white envelope again and blew a white powder on him, then turned and walked away. The sergeant started calling after her but he then realized he could not speak–he was dumb all of a sudden.
He started shaking the bed he was on to get attention for himself but did not get any. He spotted a surgical blade lying on the cabinet in his room and started cutting himself with it. As his blood oozed from his body, he started to lick the blood on the blade and his hand. When he was about to suck his bleeding arm a nurse walked right into his room. The nurse called for the security guards and they tied him to his bed and gave him a sedative; he slept off.
He felt a tap on his shoulder and forced his eyes open only to realize it was a dream. Michael, one of his subordinates at post told him an old woman with a foreign plate was at the checking point insisting they allow her to pass and he, Michael wants to seize her license which she says it’s in a white envelope in her car. When Samuel heard this, he told them to put the woman under arrest for breaking the law of the land. The old lady begged, but that did not change the situation. They made her to appear before the law court and was fined heavily for breaking the law.
