A Peek at 2011 Fall Fashions: What’s in Style?

If you are like most ladies, you wait to know what new styles and colors are that were shown at all the major fashion shows in Europe and New York before you shell out hard earned money for new pieces of clothing. Let’s face it, nobody wants to spend money on a style that looks like it was a hit year before last!

This year’s new styles are not entirely all new. You know the old saying, “It will be back in style in 10 years?” That’s pretty much the case with some of the big fashion statements of 2011.

Jackets & Outerwear

The classic blazer is back or should I say, “Still in?” The timeless blazer is joined by puffer jackets, vests, and jackets that are cinched or tied at the waist, enhancing those with perfect figures and small waistlines.

The fall color for jackets is rust. This is certainly a change of pace and brings some color into a season that is already filled with lots of color outdoors!

The Layered Look

Yes, the layered look is back and use the popular vest mentioned above to top off a bright colored long sleeve shirt or throw a rust blazer on top for a three-layered look. You can’t go wrong with layering and it helps keep your body warm on those cooler days.

Plaids?

Plaids are another style that is making a comeback this year and popular in anything from pants and/or skirts to outerwear.

Speaking of Skirts — .

Skirts will be big this fall with fashions ranging from long and full to mid-calf and billowing skirts made of gauze. Pair it up with a big, long and comfortable sweater for a modern and trendy look. This is a great look for day or night.

Dresses for Daytime Wear

Dresses are taking on a simple look for the fall and are focused all on business! The classic shirt-dress makes a big statement in rich bold colors such as blue and jade green. The style works with a billowing blouse and skirt belted at the waist also, so scrimmage through your closet and put together a fun new outfit!

Formal Dress-Skirts Again!

Who doesn’t love dressing up for a special night out on the town? This year’s big hit is the sexy big slit cut way up high in long skirts and the perfect way to show off great legs.

If you want to portray a more romantic look, lace is also in style with patterns layering lace over material, making a romantic statement in designs cut above the knee and to the floor. This style is very popular in the bodice of dresses and even covering the entire dress in some styles.

Another hit this season is polka dots. Think dresses covered in sequins and white on black polka dots on a sophisticated style dress. Top this off with a scarf, sunglasses and designer handbag and you are ready for anything!

Velveteen dresses are also in style. Velveteen is another one of those fashions that come and go. It’s back and popular in both formal dresses and jackets. What color and style of velveteen popped up most at the 2011 fashion shows? It was an A-line cut dress in gold velveteen with a slit up one side, again showing off toned legs. Dig it in gold!

Pants

Pants are really taking a back seat to skirts and dresses this fall. It’s just a romantic time of the year with billowing skirts, lace covered tops, and cool temperatures that many want to take advantage of dressing the part. On those days when you don’t feel like it, grab a pair of slacks in bright red and go for the layered look up top. You’ll still look smashing!

There you have it, all the wonderful new styles and shades for Fall of 2011 and now you have the perfect excuse to hit the mall! Happy shopping!
