Reading books for fun is a wonderful hobby. Many people like to read for fun. This is probably because it is relaxing. Reading books for fun take readers on adventures everytime they read. I love to read. I go to the library once a week. Since, I am an avid reader, I think that I can judge a good book from a bad book. In addition, I like to recommend books to my friends and family. Therefore, I also believe that I can pick out great books for people to read. There have been many great books this year. However, the best book of 2011 is Kosher Chinese by Michael Levy. Here are five reasons that Kosher Chinese is the best book of 2011.

1. It is a true story. The author goes to China in order to enter the Peace Corps. In short, he leans about China and a group of Chinese people learn a bit about what it means to be Jewish.

2. Readers lean much about Chia and Chinese culture. This book teaches readers a bit about Chinese edcation. Readers also get an insight into some unusual Chinese cuisine. Chinese cuisine includes insects. In addition, there is information about China’s air quality.

3. It brings together two cultures. This non fiction book explores American and Chinese cultures. It also brings together the two religions of Buddism and Judaism. In short, this book teaches respect and tolerence for different cultures and religions.

4. It is a thought-provocking book. It brings up questions about different points of views about almost everything. This book questions when it is okay to behave like the residents of China. It also questions when it is okay to assert one’s values upon sombody. The author has to decide whether to eat insects or to tell his host that he keeps Kosher.

5. It is funny and touching. There are many funny instances dealing with food. It is also funny that the author develops a crush on his Chinese immersion teacher. It is touching how much is learned by everyone involved in this story.

Reading for fun is a good hobby. i have been reading for fun since I was three years old. I am an avid reader. Therefore, I think that I can judge good books from bad books. In addition, I am good at choosing books for people to read. There have been many good books this year. However, the best book of 2011 is Kosher Chinese.
