4 Steps to Experiencing Spiritual Wellness

If you want to attain deep peace and spiritual wellness, it is most important that you consider taking these 4 easy steps.

The first step in spiritual wellness is to address what you put into your body. Whatever food you eat becomes a part of your experience. And so if you are eating a lot of junk food then your body will be busy trying to get rid of all of the poisons that are in that food, including sugar, chemicals and unhealthy fats. And this leads to a feeling of imbalance and sickness.

Simply by eating a healthy diet filled with lots of raw fruits and vegetables is the first step to spiritual wellness. You can notice how good your body feels after you eat a carrot and compare it to the sick feeling in your body after eating a bag of potato chips.

You do not need to change all at once. Simply choosing to eat an orange instead of a candy bar today and noticing the feeling of physical and spiritual wellness in eating that orange will automatically start moving you in the right direction.

It is also important that you stop taking recreational drugs including alcohol. All of these things again keep your body imbalanced. In taking these substances, your body will be very busy trying to remove all of these toxins from the body, leaving you feel stressed and sick.

The second step to spiritual wellness is to exercise the body. 20 minutes of exercise that gets your heart pumping and your lungs breathing heavy will make a huge difference to to your sense of well being. Even if it means just going for a walk somewhere in nature every day, this too will make a huge difference. You will begin to oxygenate your body and mind so you feel that sense of physical wellness and this leads to spiritual well being.

The third step to spiritual wellness is to learn to be present. By being present, you will begin to experience your natural state of peace which will lead to a permanent feeling of spiritual wellness.

First, let’s consider what it means to not be present. Not being present means being lost in your thinking. If you are caught up in your thinking, then you are not experiencing this present moment. If you are caught up in thinking, then at best you can only experience your thoughts about this present moment, which again keeps you from actually experiencing this moment.

So in order to be present, try watching your breathing. This is a very simple and effective meditation technique. You can either be aware of the sound of your breathing, or you can notice the sensation of the breath moving in and out of your nose. Or you can notice the sensation of your breath moving into your nose and then all the way into your lungs and then noticing the breath leaving your lungs, moving through your throat and out you nose.

Try this now.

If you notice your breathing in this way, you may even begin to notice with every breath you breathe in that you feel a sense of spiritual wellness flowing from the center of your chest out through your entire body. If you focus on the breath in this way, this feeling of peace and spiritual wellness will begin to permeate your experience of day to day living.

I would suggest practicing sitting, with your eyes closed and watching your breath for a few minutes at least once a day if not more. Sit for as long as is comfortable, or even just a bit longer. Try and sit at the same time every day. This will build up the experience of spiritual wellness.

And then throughout your day, while walking or driving or working, practice noting your breathing. The more you do it without force the more this sense of peace and well being will grow.

The fourth step to spiritual wellness is to listen to a very unique CD that actually awakens spiritual wellness in the body. The unique meditation sound technology on the CD actually contains the vibration of peace, allowing you to almost instantly experience a sense of deep peace and spiritual well being.
