Why Obama is Right About the Kardashians

While President Barack Obama is getting plenty of heat from both sides of the political fence, there’s one stance of his we should all be able to agree with – we should not be letting our daughters watch “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” And Kim Kardashian, in particular.

Let me ask you this – would you encourage your daughters to idolize and watch reality shows starring porn stars like Jenna Jameson? Jenna Haze? Joanna Angel? Of course not. Yet you let your kids watch a reality show based on someone who made her claim to fame making a sex tape?

For the record, I have nothing against porn stars, and in fact, I have a lot of respect for the aforementioned adult performers who have taken a male-dominated industry and turned it on its head in their favor, creating their own companies. In fact, I think you could argue some points that these women are better role models than Kardashian.

Oh no, you may say, the Kardashian tape was leaked and never meant to be released to the public like an adult film. She would have never done that if she knew the tape would go public.

Oh please – do you still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, too?

WARNING: this article makes references to some lewd and lascivious acts… performed by a reality star young women everywhere are watching and idolizing. This is disturbing, indeed.

I have seen the notorious sex tape, and it is clear it was always meant to be released for a couple of reasons. A) it was shot be a third person, not a private tape and B) Kardashian strategically keeps her bra and her panties on when her beau is uh, how can we say this delicately – well, we can’t – when he was engaging in oral copulation, just pushing them aside enough to do what he was going to do without showing too much. It’s clear the video is shot to show as little as possible, except Ms. Kardashian’s oral performance shot in graphic detail (but with her lingerie still on.)

This is who you let your daughters watch on TV? Really? You really consider this an appropriate role model? And you wonder why we are seeing underage girls having videos and photos of them naked or performing sexual acts broadcast on Youtube or via cell phones in the news every other day?

Kim Kardashian does it. Paris Hilton does it. So sure, they want to do it, too.

We’ve not only made talentless trashiness and an utter lack of class acceptable, but rewarded it with reality shows, clothing lines and countless kickbacks for pandering to the media and broadcasting the biggest farce of a wedding in the history of the world. Think about that the next time your daughters are watching “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

We have brought whole new meaning to the phrase “media whore.”
