What happened to the United State of America is the question that I have been asking myself since about 2001. It seemed that everyone started expressing more interest in the government after September 11th. This is not a bad thing in fact, I am glad that everyone shows a keen interest in what goes on in our government. As more time has gone by I begin to realize that it doesn’t seem to matter what the people think, the government is going to do what they want when they want.
Have you ever listened to a congressman talk. They speak sometimes as if it is an us against them life. Like they are making rules for “us” to follow. All too frequently it seems as though the rules that they make are only being made to benefit them and the “People” have to suffer through it and pay the price. The “People” have to make the sacrifices in the name of Bi-partisanship while the congressman and woman continue to make the big bucks.
I always wondered if my vote actually counted. Regardless of whether my vote counts or not it seems that no matter who you vote for in the upcoming election I am afraid that we are going to end up in the same boat we are currently in. We the People seems to be turning into “Deceive the People”.
Politics is tricky and you can never really tell where the truth is until you see it in action. So I will leave it at that and hope for a better future. See you in 2013!
