Weight Loss Should Not Be Just About Losing Weight!

Are you trying to lose weight but just can’t find the right solution? Many Americans have been conditioned to search for the most convenient way of doing things, whether it is at work (work smarter not harder) at home (one cleanser cleans everything) or even at play (how many of you “rough it” with a television and air conditioning at the lake?).

I believe that this conditioning is partly the cause of the high rate of obesity and associated diseases, and medical spending in America. It is my opinion that we tend to associate a lack of physical activity to our level of success. If we are working harder, maybe we feel we are not doing as good as we should be.

When it comes to weight loss and our level of fitness we need to change that way of thinking. Diet pills and fad diets are shortcuts that most of us should avoid unless recommended by our physician, and there are a few of us who a physician would recommend to avoid exercise, but the majority of us have little or no excuse when it comes to being out of shape.

If you are spending the money on diet pills that can cost up to or more than $1.00/pill, take a look at the bottle and see what is inside. A number of the weight loss pills on the market are using “B” vitamins, which you can get for far less money, and they combine these vitamins with a green tea extract, then mix in a little caffeine. Most of what you find in these pills can be put into your everyday diet.

Many diet pills will have a “proprietary blend” of some sort that is designed to increase your metabolism, and may be unsafe for some people to use. Those diet pills that are ok to use may not be good for you to use long-term. I highly recommend you do your research before committing to taking a regimen of weight loss pills. Even pills that claim to be “all natural” do not mention that there is nothing natural about popping pills to increase a person’s level of fitness.

Many of the fad diets out there will leave your body short on something it needs to function properly. When it comes to your diet, nothing beats a well-balanced healthy eating plan.

The problem with fad diets and weight loss pills is that neither do anything to train your body to live a healthier lifestyle. If you do manage to lose weight using them, what happens when you stop? Will you go back to your original weight, or maybe even gain more than before?

It only makes sense to avoid the costly shortcuts and potentially unhealthy effects of diet pills and fad diets. The better answer is to eat better and add exercise to your schedule. I know many of you cringe at the thought, and can come up with several excuses about how it cannot be done. Maybe you don’t have time to go to a gym, or you cannot afford the high cost of your local gym and do not want to sign any long-term contracts. Maybe you are too embarrassed about your current body condition to be working out in a public environment, or you don’t have a good place to drop off the kids while you get your exercise. Maybe you don’t have room in your house for a lot of fitness equipment.
