Waiting for Snow

Snow is in the air, I can feel it coming,
No more autumn, no more sunning.
You just know when it will follow
Probably tonight or tomorrow.

Get the salt so we won’t fall,
Get the scraper for the car.
Get the firewood inside,
Get the egg nog by fireside.

Get the marshmallows nice and toasty,
We will cook them nice and roasty.
Go to the market and get the food,
Some wine, of course, to set the mood.

We will watch the snow come down,
Turning the back yard into an eider down.
We will light the fireplace,
And really, really enjoy our space.
