Valentine’s Day Party Ideas for Singles

On the movie Valentine’s Day, staring Jessica Biel (along with an all-star cast), Jessica Biel’s character had an Anti-Valentine’s day party, where they would hit a gong for every time a man would break their hearts. An Anti-Valentine’s Day party is a great way for single ladies to spend the loneliness night of the year. You do not have to go to the extreme as the party in Valentine’s Day, but you can have a fun party, which will be the must-do event the following year. So, send out those invites, and have yourself an Anti-Valentine’s Day party using the the below ideas, games, and activities, for a smashing good time!

Sleepover or Makeover Party

Have a sleepover like you did when you were young. Have each friend bring over their case or suitcase of makeup, and give each other makeovers and share beauty secrets. Pop open a few bottles of wine to reminisce about old times, boyfriends, and breakups!

Witty quote for the night

Give each of your guests a silly or witty quote in regards to relationships, sex, or love. They will then have to creatively incorporate their quote throughout the night. These quotes can be from famous poets, like Shakespeare’s “Love sought is good, but given unsought, is better”, or Adrienne Gusoff, “Shopping is better than sex. At least if you’re not satisfied, you can exchange it for something you really like”. There are several different websites dedicated to quotes on love and sex, my favorite is Quotes-love.net.

Anti-Valentine’s Day Charades

Have a charades game where your topics are centered on Anti-Valentine’s Day topics. One suggestion would be a bachelorette party theme, by having them guess words or phrases like “One Night Stand” or “69”. Another option would be to have them guess names of hunky actors, or times in history when love turned astray, like “The Fall of Troy” or “Cleopatra’s Suicide”. Another option is to use scenarios from some of Holly Wood’s famous breakups, like Brad and Jennifer, or the latest divorce of Kim Kardashian.

Truth or Dare

Truth or Dare is always a fun game, even as adults. Create some cards with a question along with a dare included below the question. Have your friends draw a card, she will have to answer the question truthfully or accept the dare. The questions can range from, “Have you ever had a one night stand?” to “To save the world, you have to sleep with your ex-boyfriend or Glenn Quagmire from Family Guy, who would you choose? And why?” The dares can be as silly as, “Take of your bra without removing your shirt”, or “Take 3 shots of tequila”. The sky-is-the-limit, so have fun with it!

These are but a few examples of games, ideas, and activities for your Anti-Valentine’s Day party. Hopefully, they will help you in planning your party, have fun, and happy Anti-Valentine’s day!
