Unique Decorating Ideas for the Holidays

At this time of the year, chances are you’re spending most of your time in the kitchen baking up a storm for family and friends. What the kitchen could really use to keep up your holiday spirit is some Christmas cheer of its own.

Make Your Own Centerpiece

First, let’s begin the decorating process. To begin brain-storming for ideas, take a slow walk around your kitchen. Make sure you have a notebook with you. Then, on the notebook write down any areas of the room that needs decorating. For example, since the table could use a centerpiece, why not try making one of your own? First, place carnations and mums together into a beautiful flower arrangement. Then touch it off with a miniature tealight snowman at the back of the display. You can achieve this by either hot gluing the figure to the display or using a rope to keep them together. It will be sure to draw the attention of your guests.

Garland Around Table

Another idea is hanging garland from the table. Spread all the way around and pin to the sides of the table. Position the garland so that it creates a looping effect. You can’t go wrong with this easy and simple elegant display.

Hang Mini Wreaths From Cabinets

Also, cabinets can look rather bland, especially if you have a lot of them in your kitchen. Try to spice it up a bit by adding mini wreaths to each one. These wreaths usually come in sets and so expect to pay more to get more; however, you can save a few bucks by spreading them out evenly instead of decorating each of the cabinets individually. I’m certain that hanging mini wreaths on your cabinets will do great wonders for your kitchen.

Brighten Up Your Kitchen

Lets take another look at the cabinets and step it up a notch. This one calls for a step ladder or chair. Assuming all hooks are in place, get out the Christmas lights and start laying them out across the top of the cabinets. Make sure you don’t place them directly on the cabinet doors or they won’t open. Connect the lights starting from the first cabinet and ending with the last. Now turn on your lights and be prepared for a magical outcome.

Decorate Fridge With Streamers

Get some red and green paper streamers and twist them around each other for more appeal. Then carefully wrap around the handles of your fridge. Make sure you’re holding tape already because if you let go, they will unravel. It would help having an extra hand there to help out.

These five easy steps will help keep you in the holiday spirit as you bake for family and friends this holiday season.
