Authorities in Missouri have announced two of the three pieces of potential evidence they have found regarding the case of missing 3-year-old Breeann Rodriquez are training wheels. According to KFVS, police cannot say for certain that the training wheels are from Breeann’s pink bicycle she was riding Saturday when she disappeared, but the little girl’s father believes they are the same wheels.
A crime lab is examining the wheels in an effort to determine if they could be from Breeann’s bike. The two wheels, along with a third piece of potential evidence, were found Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning on a county highway in Dunklin County — about two miles southeast of the Rodriguez residence, where Breeann was last seen on Saturday.
Authorities initially would not say what the three pieces of potential evidence were before making the announcement Thursday about the discovery of the two training wheels. One wheel was found along the road while the other wheel was discovered on the other side of a barbed wire fence about 30 feet away. Firefighters who were assisting in the search for the little girl discovered the wheels.
If the training wheels are indeed from the little girl’s bike, then the mystery only deepens and brings more questions: What happened to her and why were training wheels removed from her bike then tossed? It is possible that the training wheels are simply coincidental and came from a different bicycle but the discovery only a few days after the disappearance of the child and within a couple of miles is rather odd.
There were no further details released about the wheels; if they had been there for a longer period of time, they most likely would have shown signs of weathering with rust and dirt.
As for the third piece of possible evidence discovered, authorities are still not releasing details. They have only stated that none of the three pieces were the bike itself or any item of clothing initially. Information was later released that two of the items were the wheels. Hopefully one of the pieces of evidence will yield an important clue as to what happened to Breeann Rodriguez and where she is now.
