Tim Tebow Never Had a Prayer in the NFL

When Tim Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos, all the experts said it was a mistake. Tim Tebow is not ready for the NFL because he does not have the skills to be a QB in the NFL. Tim Tebow never had a prayer before he entered the NFL draft. Tim Tebow is a Christian and now is called Baby Jesus to make fun of him and his beliefs, what a shame.

Tim Tebow has started two games for the Denver Broncos this year. Before his first game, the Denver Broncos decided to trade their best wide receiver (Brandon Lloyd) to the St. Louis Rams. He played horrible in both games, getting sacked seven times in each. In the first game, Tebow played a game filled with mistakes for the first fifty-seven minutes; Denver fell behind by fifteen points. Tim Tebow used the next three minutes to lead his team to victory. All the experts could talk about was the first fifty-seven minutes of the game and how bad Tebow looked.

In his second game, Tim Tebow did not look good against the Detroit Lions. He was sacked seven times, threw a costly interception and fumbled the ball. All the experts talked about was how Tim Tebow was sacked seven times and did not look like an NFL QB. Remember, this was Tim Tebow’s fifth start as an NFL QB. I remember when Troy Aikman started his career with the Dallas Cowboys. He looked pretty bad in his first season going 1 win against 15 losses. I did not hear one expert talk about how the Detroit Lions are one of the elite teams in the NFL with one of the best defenses. They could make many NFL quarterbacks look bad, not just Tebow.

All the experts complain about Tim Tebow’s passing and his lack of accuracy. I believe this is the same thing most young QB’s go through in their first few games. The guy has played five games, yes he holds the ball too long and yes his accuracy sucks. Let’s look at the facts. Tim Tebow has thrown for 9 TD’s with 4 interceptions; he has run for 7 TD’s in his NFL career. He has lost one fumble in his entire NFL career, last week against the Detroit Lions.

Tim Tebow does not have a prayer because most NFL experts want him to fail. The Denver Broncos seem to want their young QB to fail and shut up their own pro-Tebow fans. They trade their best receiver away before they start him, their offensive line is mediocre and the play calling is towards Tebow’s weaknesses and not his strengths. Hey Denver how do you expect your young QB or any other QB on your team to look good?

If I ran the Denver Broncos, I would try to make Tim Tebow look the best he can every time he steps on to the field. I would tighten up the offensive line, I would give him better receivers and I would draw up plays that show Tebow’s strengths. I would also bring in an old retired QB to work with Tebow on his weaknesses and make him the best NFL QB possible. I would get a running back that can run and take the pressure off my young QB, wake up Denver.

I am tired of listening to sports people on radio calling Tim Tebow Baby Jesus. I am tired of people putting down the young man because of his religion and his Christian way of life. He doesn’t have to be a womanize, get arrested or smoke pot to fit into the NFL. The NFL should be proud to have players like Tim Tebow put on their uniforms and step on to their fields. The disrespect the Detroit Lions defensive players showed Tim Tebow after they sacked him is the same kind of abuse many Christian’s face in today’s society because of their beliefs.

Tim Tebow never had a prayer in the NFL. He doesn’t fit the mold of the normal NFL QB, but Tim Tebow has proven he can win in college and will prove this in the NFL if he is given the same chance other young QB’s are given. I hope Denver continues to give Tim Tebow the chance to work through these growing pains so he can show the world he is a real winner and can succeed in the NFL. Who really knows what his future has in store for him except for the God whom he serves. Tim Tebow keep your chin up and get that ball out just a little quicker and you will be just fine.

Today’s Definition- “Tebowing” to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different
