The north west of England has been pinpointed by the major insurance providers as one of the national hot spots for fraudulent personal injury claims. One of the worst two cities for suspicious personal injury claims are Liverpool and Manchester according to a report that was recently published by an organisation the represents the insurance providers. False or fraudulent claims are a thorn in the side for the insurance industry and the major players in the insurance business are clamping down on the bogus claimers.
The vast majority of these alleged bogus personal injury claims emulate form road traffic accidents and to be a little more specific whiplash injuries that have been caused as a result of two cars colliding with each other. Whiplash claims are pretty easy to set up if you were out to dupe the insurance company. Bogus claims cost the insurance companies millions each and every year and the down side of this is the insurance companies put up the premiums on insurance policies across the board in order to recoup some of losses that they have incurred due to the very large amount of bogus personal injury claims.
Another downside to this growing trend is the effect on people who have genuinely suffered as a result of someone else’s reckless driving. Making a claim for compensation will become increasingly harder as time goes by and the insurance companies tighten up on their claims procedure. The main problem is that it is extremely difficult to actually prove a claim for personal in as a result of a road traffic accident is bogus or not and all claimants are viewed with a certain suspicion when they make a claim. Another aggravating factor that does not help the situation is that there are a small minority of personal injury solicitors in Liverpool that are willing to take on claims that they know to be bogus. Bogus claims are a problem and will make it harder for people who have genuine accidents to make a claim for the losses and injuries that they have suffered.
