Terror on Ridge Road

The night was a dark one as Lisa and Katie drove their friend Marissa home. The moon didn’t seem to be illuminating much as they drove. Lisa turned on to the wooded curvy road that Marissa lived on, and the darkness seemed to swallow up the vehicle, oddly enough the headlights didn’t help much.

As they drove down the twisting road through the woods, Lisa decided with a smirk, to glance over at Marissa in the front seat and ask, “Do you wanna see something really scary?” With that she turned off the headlights! Katie yelped from the backseat with a resounding, “So help me if you turn the headlights back on and there’s something, or someone coming down the road, I’ll scream!”

They drove in the pitch blackness for what to Katie seemed like an eternity, Marissa was holding on for dear life thinking they were going to go off the road and hit a tree, when suddenly Lisa flipped the switch for the headlights. As they switched on, Katie, Marissa, and Lisa all screamed in unison!

There out of the darkness was a figure, ashen looking, with ripped and tattered clothing. Was he really there? How could they all be seeing the same thing if it wasn’t real? Lisa stopped the car just short of the figure. He looked real enough, but then Katie noticed, and screamed, “I can see straight through him!” Lisa screamed along with Marissa as she hit the gas and sped past him.

They couldn’t seem to get the rest of the way to Marissa’s house fast enough, anxious to fill her father in on what they had encountered, they ran inside, but not before checking over their shoulders! Once inside, Marissa’s Dad asked what was wrong, and the girls had a hard time telling him what they saw. They didn’t want to get in trouble for turning the headlights off while driving, so they left that part out, but after they told him the story, he confirmed the sighting.

He told the girls of an accident victim that passed in that general area of the winding wooded road, and said that many had witnessed exactly what they did. Needless to say, Lisa and Katie took a different route on the way home!
