Star Witness Recants Testimony in a Sworn Affidavit in the Criminal Trial of an Arizona Nurse

Nikolas Wayde Valles, of Scottsdale,Arizona, has recanted his testimony in a Sworn Affidavit in early 2007 to Leeann Burke, a Notary Public located in Maricopa County.

In the Sworn Affidavit, available online at Sworn Affidavit he states “Because I was under the influence, threat and coercion of my custodial parent, Janette Sloan, I was unable to testify truthfully and accurately at Courtney Bisbee’s criminal trial. I was told not to say anything that would contradict what my brother, Jonathan Valles had to say.”

The Sworn Affidavit also accuses Janet Sloan of being motivated by financial gain, when telling her son Jonathan to make up false allegations against Courtney Bisbee, telling him to lie and stick with the story and ” you’ll be a rich kid.”

Nikolas Valles goes on to state that he was threatened and blackmailed by his mother and then beaten up and choked by his mother’s boyfriend, Paul Cathey, to ensure his compliance and that he feared for his safety in their household.

In his disposition he describes Courtney Bisbee as a helpful and friendly person who was helping the families of his friends and that she never purchased alcohol or had a relationship with Jonathan. He describes the testimony that led to her conviction as made up testimony, saying she helped them in a time of need and anything portraying her any differently would be a lie.

After exhausting all avenues of appeal to the State, Courtney Bisbee’s case now moves to the Federal Courts for review and all the while she remains imprisoned for a crime that star witness Nikolas Wayde Valles unequivocally states in his Sworn Affidavit to Leeann Burke never even happened.
