Review: Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub is a self-described ‘oil-free acne wash’ with ‘microclear technology’ and derived from 100% natural grapefruit extract to clear breakouts. Like many acne washes, Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub contains salicylic acid (2%).

But like I said, that describes at least half the acne face washes out there. What makes Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub any different, or is it any different in the first place?

Well, I like Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub because it smells good and it seems to work well. I can’t say for absolute certain as I have never really had any issues with acne, but it seems to keep my skin nice and soft and I definitely feel clean after using Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub.

The little microbeads gently exfoliate, which is nice, and the grapefruit extract smells nice and apparently adds a boost of vitamin C, according to the bottle.

And, after all, Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub does have a 2009 Allure Reader’s Choice Award, which does say a little something for it. People other than me like it – enough people to pick it over other face washes in a contest.

I have two issues with Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub, however.

One: it tends to be hard to rinse off due to the microbeads. They don’t like to rinse off well, which is somewhat annoying, but it isn’t really a nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned.

Two: it burns like a… well, I’d better not say. Anyway, do NOT, under any circumstances, get this product in your eyes. Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub definitely means it when it says to avoid contact with your eyes. I made that mistake once, and it burned so bad. My eye felt foggy, like I couldn’t see, for probably an hour-and-a-half. So, trust me when I say do not get Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub in your eyes. Be extra cautious with this product.

That aside, I would certainly say give Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub a try if you need or want to try a new face wash.
