Really? the Apple IPhone?

Apple has taken the cell phone business by storm with their Apple iPhones. Are they truly worth the cost to have one of these little hand-held icons?

Sure, an iphone 4 is cool to have. Everyone who is anyone has one– at least that’s what they say. Be aware, there are some drawbacks to owning one of these little jewels.

The first problem off the bat is the internal battery. Unlike other phones, the battery is not replaceable. When the battery has seen it’s last day, the phone is no more good, unless there is an Apple dealer somewhere close by. Chances are– even then– the consumer will be without a cell phone for a few days.

The second noted problem with the iPhone 4 is the glass screen. There are countless reports of the glass breaking with little trauma to the phone. There were a few accounts of someone just dropping the phone in the seat of their vehicle resulting in the glass shattering. That’s not very good quality at all.

Applications are not as easy to get on the iPhone as on the opponent’s operating system– the android. There are thousands upon thousands of free downloads for everything one would ever want on an android. Not so easy to get aps for the iPhone.

Just think about it when going to make the next upgrade to the cell phone. Is it really worth it to have the iPhone after all? Itunes can be a bit grueling also.

A consumer wants quality at a decent price. I have seen neither of those criteria met with the iPhone. Apple really needs to step it up if they think they are truly going to run the Android market out of business.
