‘Pan Am’ TV Show: Sneak Peek – Eye Candy Flight Attendants with Real Substance, After “Desperate Housewives” on ABC

Ready to relive the old days of glamorized air travel with “Pan Am”? Beginning Sunday, September 25 after “Desperate Housewives,” ABC introduces a new series inevitably compared to that of “Mad Men.” The similarities are of the early 1960’s time period with eye candy flight attendants making the friendly skies even more compelling. In a sneak peek of “Pan Am,” the show centers around a cast of women absorbed in a multitude of drama. Cast include: Christina Ricci, Margot Robbie, Michael Mosley, Karine Vanasse, Mike Vogel, and Kelli Garner.

EOnline describes “Pan Am” as “an escapist adventure in all the right ways.” The stewardesses don classic blue uniforms with elegant white gloves and caps during a time air travel was exciting and novel. In the sneak peek glimpse of what the period drama is about, Christina Ricci plays the “artsy girl from the Village” on the show.

The actress says, “(Maggie’s) someone who’s really looking for meaning in the world and in life.” Ricci says her character “likes to have a good time and knows her way around the world.”

A preview in “Pan Am” further details that that the show consists of Russian spies, job struggles, and the personal lives of the flight attendants. Margot Robbie’s character of Laura is a runaway bride who wants to be free and have her work at “Pan Am” allow her to broaden her horizons. Laura’s sister, Kate ( played by Kelli Garner) is a veteran with a connection to the CIA. Collette ( played by Karine Vanasse),is a flirtatious French woman who often “struggles with love in the high skies.”

Viewers who admire the nostalgia of the 1960’s and times rarely depicted on a television series will be intrigued by “Pan Am.” The show may not reach the popular threshold of “Mad Men,” but the underlying idea of “the good old days” will make their presence for a demographic missing the way things used to be before life entered complicated territories on airliners of terrorist attacks and emerging plane crashes.

“Pan Am” airs after “Desperate Housewives” on ABC Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m., ET/PT. The premiere episode airs Monday, September 25.
