Must See Spots in Sydney, Australia

Sightseeing and traveling in Sydney, Australia can be an amazing adventure for many, but you must know where to start when planning your trip. If you only have a set amount of vacation days there then let this article help you determine what things you must see and do while there, how to save money by doing it yourself, and ways to plan before you get there.

When staying in Sydney, Australia you must look at where to book a hotel room. Sure, you want to be near all the main attractions, but how can you do so without blowing all of your vacation money. Look at staying in Darling Harbour at the Hotel Ibis where the average cost is $130/night. Darling Harbour is only a short ferry ride to Sydney Harbour and is also host to an IMAX theater, a maritime museum- where you can go aboard a Navy submarine, and many dinner and nightlife spots.

For the thrill seekers in your group, be sure to book in advance your Sydney Harbour bridge climb. This adventure must be well booked in advance as it books up quickly. It was something my family and I wanted to do while there, but we didn’t know to book in advance. If bridge climbing is not your forte, be sure to visit the Sydney Opera House. It is a beautiful sight along with learning about the amazing acoustics for the music lover in you.

If city life in Sydney is not for you and you seek the great outdoors be sure to visit the Koala Park Sanctuary. It’s a 30 minute car ride from Sydney (book your own car), and for about $24/adult and $14/children you can have close encounters with koalas, kangaroos, wombats, dingos and many other friendly critters. This is the true Outback experience without being in the Outback. While traveling by car spend the extra 50 minutes and see the Three Sisters and some Aborigine people playing their native Didgeridoo while visiting the Blue Mountains. The name Blue Mountains, however; is derived from the blue tinge the range takes on when viewed from a distance. Check this out for yourself as you travel outside of the city.
