Meet Alisa Summers from RuPaul’s Drag Race 4

Abby: I see that you are a Jersey girl that has relocated to Tampa, Florida.

Alisa: Yes and I love it here!

Abby:
What is a typical day in the life of Alisa Summers like?

Alisa: During the week, I spend most of the time as Alex. I have a day job, and friends that I like to spend time with. Other than that, I love to sit at home and work on costumes, or going out and having a few drinks. Alisa comes out on the weekends!

Abby:
I have been reading the comments from the previews of RPDR and people are comparing you to Carmen Carrera. They say that you sound and act alike. How do you feel about that?

Alisa: I am actually very flattered by these comments, to be honest. Carmen is a friend of mine and I thought she was flawless on season 3, and she is a beautiful person. If people want to call me baby Carmen, I’m fine with that! Plus, we both like to give you BODY!

Abby: How do you keep that body in shape?

Alisa: I eat a lot and lay on the couch! Ha, ha! Honestly, I don’t have much time for working out. Stomping around in heels and being fabulous is all the exercise this queen needs.

Abby:
Have you had any funny experiences buying women’s clothes or shoes?

Alisa: Drag shopping is always a funny experience. I don’t care how dude-ish I am walking in; facial hair, baseball hats and baggy jeans, I have no problem trying on a fierce pair of heels.

Abby:
How tall are the tallest pair of heels you have ever worn?

Alisa: I love crazy shoes. I think the tallest heel might’ve been about 9 inches. They weren’t very easy to dance and maneuver in.

Abby:
Did you ever get stage fright?

Alisa: I got stage fright a lot when I was first starting out. I used to be backstage and they announce me and I’d let out this deep cough/gag sound. My show director called it “the cough.” It was him who actually pointed out one night, “I haven’t heard the cough in a while, bitch!” As far as overcoming it, no matter how nervous I was, once I hit the stage and the lights hit me, I had no fear. The stage is where I belong!

Abby: What was the scariest thing that ever happened to you while in drag?

Alisa: Honestly? The scariest thing, and my biggest fear, has happened to me. I was arrested in full high-whore drag. You don’t ever want to be treated the way I was treated when I arrived at the jail. Girls, BEWARE!

Abby:
What celebrity would you like to see in drag?

Alisa: I would love to see Justin Bieber in drag. I mean, please, half the work is already done!

Abby:
Who has been your biggest drag inspiration and why?

Alisa: I have been very fortunate to be the only girl on cast at the Honey Pot. The other three spots rotate and I get to see and work with all kind of talents from all over the country. I draw inspiration from everyone, because you can never learn too much about drag.

Abby: What was your favorite moment from any of the previous seasons of RPDR?
Alisa: My favorite moment is whenever Ru comes in and says, “One more thing…” Just to remind you that you thought you had this challenge down packed, but you better think again!

Abby: Who did you want to win RPDR from season 1, 2 and 3?

Alisa: I wanted Nina to win season 1. I love her. She is so sweet. I met her Years ago. I wanted Juju for season two because that bitch was down. And for season three, of course I wanted my sister Alexis to win.

Abby: In regards to drag, what is your biggest pet peeve?

Alisa: My biggest pet peeve would have to be when a queen doesn’t wear body or nails. If you want to play the part, then play the part.

Abby:
What is your favorite drag expression?

Alisa: It’s a toss up between “the house down,” and “what’s the T?!”

Abby: What is RuPaul’s Drag Race like?

Alisa: RuPaul’s Drag Race is like totally the coolest show on TV, duh!”

Abby: Well Alisa I cannot argue with that. I cannot wait to see you on the show along with all of the other racers.
