Mark Wahlberg Says Entourage Movie is in the Works

Making the most of the evening, Mark Wahlberg was spotted at the HBO Emmy Awards after party in West Hollywood last night (September 18).

The “Fear” actor looked dapper in a black tuxedo as he hammed it up with his buddy/colleague Jeremy Piven at the Pacific Design Center.

As for his executive producing gig on “Entourage,” which ended its eight season run on September 11th, Mark told press that a major motion picture is likely to happen.

“It better happen, Wahlberg declared. “We’re working on [a movie] as we speak. Everything is teed up for a movie.”

So will Ari Gold opt to take the studio offer, or will he keep his word to his wife (Perrey Reeves) that they’ll take a year off together? Answers Wahlberg: “The dream job he got offered is too good to pass up.”

The 40-year-old actor/producer first confirmed the news of an Entourage movie when he stopped to chat with “Extra” host Mario Lopez on the red carpet earlier in the evening.

“Yeah, for sure. You saw the way it ended. After the credits, Jeremy Piven’s character is in Italy with his wife and he gets a big phone call,” explained Mark. “I think that’s obviously going to cause a lot of tension within his relationship. And the guys are going to have to go back to where it started. We’ve been talking about the movie non-stop. That’s the goal.”

While speaking with Mario, the star of “The Fighter” also expressed excitement over his other production project – the upcoming season of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”.

Wahlberg gushed, “The season is phenomenal. There’s a lot more at stake and everybody’s after Nucky. I don’t want to give anything away. You’re welcome to come to my house and I’ll screen the whole thing for you. It’s fantastic.”

Mark also praised his lead actor, Steve Buscemi. “He [Buscemi] is literally one of the greatest living actors. Period. I’m just so glad that he finally got the platform to show his talents. He’s just on another level. The whole cast is great… These guys are inspiring me to elevate my game.”

The second season of “Boardwalk Empire” premieres Sunday, September 25th on HBO.
