Make a Man Stuck in the Ceiling

A man’s body that looks like it is stuck in the ceiling is a great Halloween decoration for party hosts. This is a fairly simple decoration you can reuse year after year, though if you do, I suggest picking new locations each year to keep your friends guessing. You can use this decoration anywhere that you can hang three hooks overhead.

You Will Need:
Long gloves
Old pair of pants
Old shirt
Old shoes
Safety pins
Pushpins
Wire coat hanger
3 Hooks
Fiberfill

Instructions:
1. Shape the wire coat hanger into a circle.
2. Place the three hooks at equidistant points in the ceiling using the shaped coat hanger as a guide.
3. Cut around eight inches off the bottom of the old shirt. Stitch a small seam around the cut edge to prevent fraying, but leave a small opening in the seam.
4. Run the wire hunger through the hem you have created. Twist the ends together to form a waist for your Half-man.
5. Hang the “waist” on the three hooks that you placed in the ceiling.
6. Pin the top of the old pants to the bottom of the now hanging shirt with safety pins.
7. Pin the shoes to the bottom of the hanging pants with more safety pins.
8. To create hands, stuff the gloves with fiberfill and attach them to the ceiling on either side of the shirt already hanging from the ceiling.

Now you have half a man hanging from your ceiling. Feel free to get more creative. Use ladies clothes with boots for a lady stuck in the ceiling. If you want more dummies around the house, or want some fake bodies around that will not include holes in the ceiling, here are some other suggestions. You could stuff a pair of stripped stockings to look like witch’s feet and close the oven door on them for a fun party decoration, just remember not to turn on the oven without removing the stockings. Try pinning a pair of pants to socks and shoes, stuff the clothing with newspaper of fiberfill and wedge the dummy under the couch. You could also close a window, drawer, door or whatever strikes your fancy with one of these sets of stuffed clothing. I have seen them hanging out of second-story windows, trunks and hoods of cars and made to look like they are being sucked into the ground. Be creative and have some fun with your Halloween decorations.
